Whenever any sort of work is being carried out in a home it’s always a good idea
to plan ahead for the clean up afterwards. If the premises aren’t occupied and
there are no floor coverings down then it’s not so much of a problem, however,
the occupants are not going to be very pleased if they come back to dirt and

Dust Sheets
For small jobs that aren’t going to cause too much dirt and dust a standard
dust sheet can be used. Try a cotton twill version with a polythene backing
for extra protection.

Of course a dust sheet is not the safest of things to place on the floor
when working. It could cause trips and falls if you’re not careful so maybe
a better option would be a self adhesive carpet protector instead. It will
protect from mess, dust, dirt, stains and spills and can be used on hard
flooring as well as carpets and textiles. So whether you’re painting, drilling
a wall, plastering or just carrying out general building work it could be a
good choice for you To use simply roll out onto the floor and press firmly
down. When you need to remove it it’s easy to do so due to the low tack
adhesive Lift each edge in turn to enclose the mess before lifting the whole sheet for disposal.
Use An Envelope When Drilling
The dust can be contained for any very small jobs such as drilling a couple of
holes in a wall by taping an envelope to the wall underneath with masking tape.
When drilling the dust will simply fall into the envelope instead of onto the
floor and can be sealed up for easy disposal when required.
